Here at Five Fishes, we look for poems or prose bringing the reader into a world; preferably a world of the outdoors or of the mind of an interesting character. We hope that the works we publish will spark some sort of emotion; in a delightful kind of way. We cannot pay for works at this time, but we hope that the joy of sharing your writing will be pay enough. And please — nothing that’s already been published elsewhere. We plan on publishing a total of four poems and one short fiction the first Friday of every month.
If we don’t respond right away, we apologize. We are busy students and running this journal takes a lot of time which we don’t always have. You are more than welcome to ask about the status of your submission after a few weeks have passed since its submission. And, of course, feel free to submit for more buckets whether or not your work has been accepted/published here.
